However, by contract, Mangroovy will be responsible for listing it on various booking platforms and managing everything related to rentals. The creators and members of the Mangroovy team have actively collaborated in different social and environmental projects as members of this beautiful community of Puerto Morelos and even in other parts of the world.
In this sense, one of the most interesting and exciting challenges that we have set ourselves as a sustainable and socially responsible company is the generation of 'Zero Waste. To achieve this goal, we understood that waste separation policies would not be enough, and we began to develop a plan to recycle and use 100% of the waste generated in Mangroovy. Both organic, recyclable and disposable waste. In order to be able to process all these elements in an adequate space in terms of dimensions, capacities, and in terms of a correct and planned handling, larger extensions of land than the perimeter of Mangroovy are needed.
This is how "Rancho Antonia' was born. This project will provide an integral response to these requirements (and many others!), since it will function as a collection center for recyclable materials and a natural wetland for tertiary treatment of sewage and gray water.
It will also create a two-way value for our Garden Restaurant, as the organic waste will be absorbed by a large compost that will in turn generate fertilizer for at organic garden. That garden will be the main supplier for our Garden Restaurant.
The place will also function as a small shelter for animals rescued from abusive situations. This and other projects will be updated on our website as we move forward, so stay tuned!
